Caption: Super Bowl LVIII is to be staged in Las Vegas on Sunday (11February2024) - and Sin City’s newest landmark, The Sphere, is to be lit up in celebration of American football’s showpiece event. The collaborative venture between Sphere Entertainment Co. (NYSE: SPHR) and the NFL will present exclusive Super Bowl LVIII content, crafted by Sphere Studios, on Sphere's fully programmable LED exterior, known as the Exosphere, during Super Bowl Week. This content will be showcased not only in Las Vegas but also as part of CBS Sports' coverage of Super Bowl LVIII on CBS and Paramount+. Joel Fisher, Executive Vice President, Marquee Events and Operations for MSG Entertainment, says: "We welcome Super Bowl LVIII to Las Vegas, which continues to reinforce its place as a destination for the biggest events in sports and entertainment. "As a new Las Vegas landmark, Sphere is recognized worldwide for its dynamic visuals, and we're proud to collaborate with the NFL on content that will captivate audiences both in Las Vegas and watching on CBS." Guy Barnett, Senior Vice President Brand Strategy & Creative Development at Sphere Entertainment, adds: "The custom Super Bowl-themed content our Sphere Studios team created for the Exosphere will surprise and delight fans, adding a one-of-a-kind element to the first-ever Las Vegas Super Bowl, and to the game broadcast." Super Bowl Week in Las Vegas kicks off on Monday, featuring custom Exosphere content throughout the week ahead of the match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. In collaboration with the NFL, Sphere will display content such as a countdown clock leading up to kick-off, a welcome visual for the expected crowds, and key graphics highlighting the matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. Sphere will also showcase all 57 Super Bowl rings, allowing fans to pose in front of their team's ring. During the game, the Exosphere will run live, real-time content in response to on-field action. Peter O'Reilly, Executive Vice President, Club Business, League Events & International at the NFL, also expressed excitement about the collaboration. “In the short amount of time since its opening, Sphere has established itself as one of the most recognizable landmarks in Las Vegas and we're thrilled about this collaboration in the lead up to Super Bowl LVIII," he gushes. "There won't be a better place for the League and our family of official NFL partners to display their creative and message the thousands of fans descending upon Las Vegas for the biggest annual sports event in the world." CBS Sports' broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII will prominently feature Sphere, with both the Exosphere and the interior of Sphere showcased in two curated moments within custom videos filmed at the venue. Sphere Studios has created special Super Bowl LVIII content as part of its ongoing XO/Art program, featuring custom art from legendary street artists displayed on the Exosphere throughout the week. Apart from NFL and Super Bowl content, some of the world's leading brands will have advertisements displayed on the Exosphere during Super Bowl Week. The Exosphere, boasting approximately 1.2 million LED pucks spaced eight inches apart, stands as the largest LED screen on Earth. Each puck, containing 48 individual LED diodes capable of displaying 256 million colors, contributes to creating a vibrant landmark on the Las Vegas skyline.
