Caption: An adventurous gecko journeyed more than 1,300 miles by stowing away in a Guernsey couple’s suitcase. When the holidaymakers returned home from Madeira they found the unexpected travelling companion - who is now in the care of the Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA). The spirited lizard, now affectionately known as "Larry," made bid for freedom as the couple began unpacking their belongings. Larry is presently in quarantine at the Animal Shelter, awaiting a health assessment that will determine the next steps, with the ultimate goal of finding him a suitable home. Larry’s big adventure is just the latest several instances of exotic animals being discovered in Guernsey after stowing away in travelers' luggage. Earlier this year, the island welcomed two snake stowaways, one hailing from Mexico and the other from Spain.
