Caption: This video footage shows the damage in Kherson after its railway station was hit by a Russian missile attack as an evacuation train was departing on Tuesday (26December2023). Interior Minister Igor Klymenko confirmed that the strike had resulted in at least one fatality and four injuries. “One policeman was killed and two civilians and two policemen were wounded by shrapnel,” he said. Klymenko added: “Kherson in the evening. Around 140 civilians waiting at the station for an evacuation train. That's the moment that the enemy began a massive bombing of the city.” Damage to other buildings is also shown in the video. However, the Minister said that despite the attack, “the situation is under control and the railway is ready to continue functioning”. Local officials from the Kherson regional administration added: “Pain and anger. Such emotions arise when you watch how the occupiers mock Kherson. “Another unheard-of terror. Strikes on the evacuation train. Several hours of nightmares in residential areas. This is what our station and city streets look like today. We will rebuild. Only people cannot be returned. Sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.”
