Caption: This Italian dog had a lucky escape after it became trapped inside a cave in the Monte Arista area of Sardinia on 28 December 2023. Starting in the early hours of the morning the Lanusei Fire Brigade team, assisted by a specialist team intervened to rescue the cave-bound canine. Due to the complexity of the intervention, the operations room of the Sardinia regional directorate sent regional USAR urban search and rescue personnel - more used to rescuing people from collapsed buildings. Working together, the teams managed to free the unfazed hound and returned it to its owner in good health.
