Caption: Llangyfelach Church in Swansea has been decorated with an abundance of crochet and knitted poppies ahead of Remembrance Sunday. Approximately 5,000 poppies have been creatively used both on the exterior tower of the church property and the interior on the altar, pulpit and pews. The poppies were a combined effort, made by the local group the “Wise Women,” church members, family members and friends worldwide, with some poppies even being received from Australia. A staggering 3,000 poppies, both red and purple, purple for remembering the animals involved in the war, have been placed for a second year as a beautiful “waterfall of poppies” on the tower outside the church. Meanwhile, for the first time, the interior of the church has been decorated with approximately a further 2,000 poppies.
