Headline: UNCAPTIONED: PC release date for Baldur's Gate 3 brought forward by a month

Caption: PC release date for Baldur’s Gate 3 brought forward by a month. IGN report that the move is to avoid clashing with the launch of Starfield. Developer Larian has taken into consideration that Bethesda’s Starfield launch on 1 September could be a little problematic for Baldur’s Gate 3’s planned 31 August launch. And so, bringing it forward to 3 August on PC seems like the sensible thing to do although the PlayStation 5 version will have to be delayed as a result, meaning that comes on 6 September. As for the Xbox and Mac versions… sill no word on those. Swen Vincke, creative director and founder of Larian has refused to namecheck Starfield as the direct cause however for the change in PC date release. Preferring to generalize the whole thing, to just needing a slot in a busy rosta. “I know the comparison [to Starfield] is inevitable of course because it's coming out.” “But I don't know if you've looked at the rest of the year, it's a super busy period. I don't think we've had as busy a year as this in a long time.” “You've got Zelda, you've got Diablo 4, you've got Starfield, Final Fantasy, there's a bunch of others I'm not mentioning. It's a really big year. Vincke then explained that the studio had to ‘ figure out, do we want to shove everything out at the same time because we are trying to get a simultaneous release, or not?”. “We figured, it's there, they've been waiting for such a long time. We want it out. Because we've been sitting on this game for a long time, too. It's time to get it out.” THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
