Caption: Original director of Super Mario RPG not coming back for Switch remake. Eurogamer report that it is now confirmed that director Chihiro Fujioka is not going to be making a comeback with the game, following the announcement of the faithful recreation of the 1996 original game at the Nintendo Direct event in June. Fans were quick to jump on Twitter to query Fujioka on his involvement and he responded to one fan. “I am not involved in the remake. But I am very surprised and pleased with the news!”. At the time of the original game, the director worked at Square (now Square Enix), which developed Super Mario alongside Nintendo publishing. One of the original crew who will be making a comeback however is composer Yoko Shimomura, who confirmed the news on Twitter. ”I put all my heart into arranging all the songs, hoping that both the fans of the original and those playing for the first time can enjoy it!”. The super Mario RPG remake is set to drop on 17 November. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
