Bethesda first announced it was working on the update in October 2022 as part of Fallout 4’s 25th anniversary. The update was planned for this year, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The whole thing will now be happening in 2024, with Bethesda writing as much on social media. ”Thank you for your patience with us as we work on the Fallout 4 next-gen update. We know you're excited, and so are we! But we need a bit more time and look forward to an exiting return to the Commonwealth in 2024”.
