Ariana Grande wowed in a stunning crystal-studded ballgown at the 2025 Academy Awards. The singer-actress walked the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles in a custom-made Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress featuring an architectural skirt made of pale pink tulle. Ariana, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Glinda Upland in Wicked, accessorised the look with diamonds from DeBeers. Featuring 190,000 crystal sequins and rhinestones, the ballgown was reminiscent of the one Billie Burke wore as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North in 1939's The Wizard of Oz. Ariana’s Wicked co-star, Cynthia Erivo, pulled out all of the stops for the evening too. The Best Actress nominee stepped out in a forest green velvet Louis Vuitton dress with a bow-like neckline and voluminous skirt. ”I feel wonderful in this. We worked on this for a little while. I wanted a big dress for the Oscars if I made it here and here we are... in this big giant dress. I feel amazing in it!", she told E! News. Other stars to make the best-dressed list included Emilia Pérez actress Selena Gomez, who dazzled in an embellished Ralph Lauren Collection gown and Bulgari bling, while her co-star Zoe Saldaña, who won Best Supporting Actress on the night, opted for a dark red tiered Saint Laurent dress featuring crystal detailing on the bodice. Presenter Halle Berry sparkled like a mirrorball in a silver strapless Christian Siriano gown and Pomellato jewellery, Best Actress nominee Demi Moore shone in a bespoke Giorgio Armani Privé crystal-embroidered gown, and Best Supporting Actress nominee Felicity Jones rocked a silver Giorgio Armani Privé dress with fabric which had a liquid metal effect. And the men got dressed up for the prizegiving as well, with A Complete Unknown star Timothée Chalamet selecting a butter-yellow suit from Givenchy, and his fellow Best Actor nominee, Sing Sing actor Colman Domingo, rocking a bold red Maison Valentino ensemble.
