Trump Taps Tammy Bruce as Deputy US Ambassador to the UN. President Donald Trump has nominated State Department spokeswoman and former Fox News host Tammy Bruce to serve as the US deputy representative to the United Nations. Announcing the pick on Truth Social, Trump praised Bruce for doing a “fantastic job” since joining the State Department in January. Bruce, a conservative commentator for more than two decades on Fox News has written several books critical of liberals, including Fear Itself: Exposing the Left's Mind-Killing Agenda. As spokeswoman, she has defended a range of controversial foreign policy moves from the administration’s immigration crackdown to sending private contractors to deliver aid in Gaza. Her appointment will require Senate confirmation. Trump’s choice for UN ambassador, Mike Waltz, is also awaiting approval.
