Rihanna's dad Ronald Fenty's cause of death revealed. A cause of death for Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, has been revealed. Last month, Barbados-based Ronald died while "surrounded by family" at a hospital in Los Angeles following a "brief illness". He was 71. According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ on Thursday, Ronald had been suffering from acute respiratory failure, pancreatic cancer, and aspiration pneumonia - a type of lung infection. The other causes of death listed in the filing included acute renal failure and acute tubular necrosis, indicating kidney damage. Representatives for Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, have not yet commented on her father's passing. The Umbrella hitmaker is currently expecting her third child with rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky. The couple already shares sons RZA, three, and Riot, 22 months. And while Ronald rarely spoke about his famous daughter in public, after Rihanna, 37, revealed her second pregnancy at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February 2023, he told TMZ he was "over the moon”.
