Zayn Malik makes emotional tribute to Liam Payne on tour. The 31-year-old One Direction star was devastated last month when Liam fell to his death from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. On Saturday night, Zayn kicked off his long-awaited debut solo headline tour - taking to the stage at the O2 Academy in Leeds. While performing to his fans, the singer projected a touching message about his late bandmate, beaming a message onto the stage stating, "Liam Payne 1993-2024. Love you bro" along with a heart motif. The star sensationally quit One Direction in 2015 before going on to unleash his first solo song the following year and released his most recent album, Room Under the Stairs, in May. Speaking to his audience, Zayn announced, as per the Daily Mail, "It's good to be back up North" before launching into his global hit Pillow Talk. ”This might be a pretty decent moment for you all, this is the first time I've ever sang this song live... this song is called Pillow Talk.” His tour is set to continue until 3 February 2025 with dates in the UK and USA including Edinburgh, London, New York and Los Angeles.
