Starmer under pressure as Mandelson’s Epstein ties resurface. Sir Keir Starmer is under mounting scrutiny following renewed revelations about Lord Mandelson’s links to Jeffrey Epstein. Speaking to the BBC, Mandelson said he had relied on assurances of Epstein’s innocence — claims he now calls “horrendously false”. He admitted continuing the association far longer than he should have. The Conservatives, along with some Labour MPs, are calling for Mandelson’s dismissal. But at Prime Minister’s Questions, Starmer stood by him, stressing that Mandelson has repeatedly expressed deep regret over his ties with Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
