AI Supercar May End the Era of Human Drivers in Two Years. A California start-up has unveiled a futuristic self-driving car so advanced that it doesn’t even want you to touch the wheel. Called the Tensor Robocar, it has been built entirely from the ground up with one purpose – to drive itself. The vehicle is loaded with technology, including 37 cameras, 5 lidars, 11 radars, 22 microphones and 10 ultrasonic sensors. Unlike today’s robotaxi fleets, Tensor says this is the world’s first personal Robocar designed for private owners. At the heart of the vehicle is a powerful dual AI brain that controls everything. One system reacts instantly with human-like reflexes, while the other reasons through complex or unusual driving situations. The Robocar is also capable of parking itself, recharging automatically, cleaning its sensors and running full self-diagnostics. Safety has been a priority, with every critical system backed up by redundancy and certified to the world’s toughest standards. More than just smart, Tensor describes it as an “AI agentic car” that interacts with you and learns your habits over time. To address privacy concerns, all personal data remains stored inside the vehicle, with physical covers for cameras and switches for microphones. The Robocar is set to launch in the US, Europe and the UAE in late 2026.
