Russian Strikes Kill 14, Including Children, as Kyiv Faces Massive Overnight Assault. Kyiv struck by a “massive attack” from Russia overnight, killing at least 14 people, including three children. Ukrainian Air Force reported 629 air attack weapons used, including 598 drones and 31 missiles. Among the dead are children aged 2, 14, and 17, confirmed Tymur Tkachenko of Kyiv City Military Administration. Ukrainian President Zelensky condemned the attack as a “horrific and deliberate killing of civilians.” Some 500 rescuers and 1,000 police officers were deployed, including mountaineers, dog handlers, and robotic equipment. A building housing the EU mission in Kyiv was damaged, prompting condemnation from European Council President Antonio Costa. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called Russia’s targeting of diplomats a breach of the Vienna Convention. The strikes are part of intensified Russian offensives amid stalled diplomatic efforts to end the war.
