Saudi-Led Coalition Strikes Houthi Missile Facilities as Regional Fighting Escalates. The Saudi-led military coalition fighting Yemen’s Houthi rebels says it has destroyed missile launchers, storage facilities and tunnels in a new operation aimed at weakening the group. Coalition spokesperson Turki al-Maliki said the operation destroyed four ballistic missile launchers, five tunnels and a missile depot used by the Houthis to store weapons. The strikes follow a series of Houthi attacks on Saudi territory, including Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and energy infrastructure, amid escalating regional hostilities .The Houthis claimed on Monday that they had attacked Riyadh airport with a ballistic missile and targeted Saudi oil-pumping stations with drones. Saudi air defences said they intercepted a missile launched towards Riyadh, while airport operations resumed on Sunday after an earlier Houthi attack that killed 13 people. The renewed fighting comes amid the collapse of a ceasefire that had largely held since 2022, with the Houthis expanding their territorial control and attacks on Saudi-linked infrastructure. In Yemen, government forces are intensifying their operations against the Houthis, particularly around Taiz, where advancing fighters have increased pressure on the defensive lines.
