Meta To Trial Premium Subscriptions On Instagram, Facebook And WhatsApp. Meta announces plans to trial premium subscriptions across Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, as it experiments with new paid services. The subscriptions would offer access to additional features, including expanded artificial intelligence tools, while keeping the core functions of each platform free for users. Meta also plans to test paid features linked to its Vibes video generation app, which uses AI to help users create visual content. Vibes is launched as part of the updated Meta AI platform. The move follows Meta’s acquisition of Manus, a Chinese-founded AI firm whose technology focuses on so-called autonomous agents. These tools are designed to plan and complete tasks such as organising trips or creating presentations with minimal user input. Meta says the trials reflect its push to expand AI-driven products and explore new revenue streams beyond advertising.
