The princess was also known for championing the rights of female prisoners through initiatives aimed at improving conditions and rehabilitation opportunities. Her health deteriorated after suffering a heart-related collapse while training her dogs, with subsequent infections and organ complications leaving her hospitalised and unconscious for years. Her death has renewed attention on questions surrounding Thailand's royal succession, as she had long been viewed by many observers as a possible future heir or regent.
