Prosecutors link Lil Durk to 2022 Chicago murder. Federal authorities have tied Chicago rapper Lil Durk to a fatal shooting that happened in 2022. The news comes ahead of a scheduled detention hearing for his ongoing legal battles around the murder of fellow rapper King Von. Newly unsealed court records shed light on the rapper's alleged involvement in the murder of gang leader Stephon Mack. The father of five has been fingered as the brains behind the cold-blooded shooting death on 27 January 2022 of 24-year-old Mack, who died outside the Youth Peace Centre of Roseland in Chicago. At the time of his death, Mack was the leader of a faction of Gangster Disciples, one of the most well-known street gangs in Chicago. According to the court documents submitted in the US District Court in Chicago, Durk offered prizes to those who killed the members of rival gangs who he assumed were behind the death of his brother Dontay in 2021. Durk has yet to be formally charged in connection with Mack's murder. Meanwhile, federal investigators have dug through the evidence, including prison phone calls, social media chatter and the lyrics of Durk's song Ahhh Ha, which was released in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
