Venus Williams is making her tennis comeback at the DC Open after over a year away from the sport. Venus expressed hope for her sister Serena to return to the game, commenting that it would make her comeback even better. Serena recently posted a video on social media showcasing her athleticism and impressive groundstrokes. Venus mentioned how much she misses her sister, as they’ve always played and competed together. “If she comes back, I’m sure she’ll let y’all know,” Venus said, leaving the door open for a possible Serena comeback. Serena, who retired after the 2022 US Open, has 23 Grand Slam singles titles and 14 doubles titles with Venus. Venus praised her sister’s natural talent, saying, “You can’t teach that kind of talent. She’s just so good.” Venus last played a WTA Tour match in March 2024, with her last singles win in 2023 at the Cincinnati Open. Venus, now 45, is currently without a ranking and described how love and support from her family keeps her grounded and motivated.
