Zelensky Urges Reform UK Councils To Fly Ukrainian Flag Again. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Reform UK-run councils to resume flying the Ukrainian flag in solidarity with his country. Speaking after talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Downing Street, Zelensky said small actions can have a big impact on international relationships. The Ukrainian leader warned that refusing to fly the flag could be the kind of “small mistake” capable of damaging a strong friendship between nations. Reform UK has a policy of only displaying the Union flag, the St George’s Cross and county flags on public buildings under its control. Many councils run by other political parties continue to fly the Ukrainian flag as a symbol of support following Russia’s invasion. President Zelensky stressed that people should avoid actions that could weaken friendships and instead work to understand each other through dialogue. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has repeatedly voiced support for Ukraine but opposes sending British troops to the country after the war. A Reform UK spokesperson said support for Ukraine should be judged by actions rather than the number of foreign flags flown above town halls.
