President Biden visited Superior, Wisconsin, on Jan. 25, CBS News reports. While there, he revealed an investment of nearly $5 billion that will aid 37 infrastructure projects in at least 12 states. Some of the investments include $600 million to fix the I-5 bridge between Washington and Oregon. $372 million for Cape Cod's Sagamore Bridge. and $1.06 billion to fix the Blatnik Bridge connecting Wisconsin and Minnesota.. The president took the time to speak with iron workers while referencing the importance of Blatnik Bridge. "For decades, people talked about replacing this bridge. But it never got done — until today." "I'm beyond proud to announce $1 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will be used to build this new bridge." President Joe Biden, via statement. $2.8 billion will serve projects in rural areas of the U.S. In addition to bridges, the funds will go toward a California offshore wind project, a shipping vessel container terminal in Louisiana and railroad improvements in Nevada. The White House has previously announced 40,000 additional infrastructure projects worth over $400 billion as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act and more.
