A US judge has ordered President Donald Trump's administration to temporarily restore White House access to three news organisations banned from the building last week. CNN, MS NOW and Politico challenged the decision after their reporters had their White House passes confiscated. District Judge Timothy Kelly issued a temporary restraining order requiring their access to be restored for 14 days while the legal dispute continues. He ruled the outlets were likely to succeed in arguing that the administration had failed to provide adequate due process. The Trump administration defended the ban by accusing the organisations of publishing false information and posing a threat to national security. However, the judge said the record lacked factual support for the national security argument and noted that President Trump had not mentioned such concerns when initially announcing the restrictions. The White House has yet to comment and could pursue further legal action.
