Headline: UNCAPTIONED: H2FLY's HY4 Completes First-Ever Piloted Flight Of Liquid Hydrogen-Powered Electric Plane

Caption: In a groundbreaking achievement for aviation, H2FLY has announced the successful completion of the world's first piloted flight of an electric aircraft powered by liquid hydrogen. The H2FLY team has conducted four flights powered by liquid hydrogen as part of an extensive flight test campaign, with one flight remarkably lasting over three hours. These historic flights were carried out using H2FLY's piloted HY4 demonstrator aircraft, equipped with a cutting-edge hydrogen-electric fuel cell propulsion system, and cryogenically stored liquid hydrogen that served as the aircraft's power source. The results of these test flights have unveiled a significant advancement in aviation technology. By substituting gaseous hydrogen with liquid hydrogen, the HY4 aircraft's maximum range has been effectively doubled, from 750 kilometers to an impressive 1,500 kilometers. This milestone represents a crucial step toward realizing emissions-free, medium- and long-haul commercial flights. In 2024, H2FLY will inaugurate its Hydrogen Aviation Center at Stuttgart Airport, co-funded by the Ministry of Transport Baden Württemberg. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a hub for Europe's aviation industry and its hydrogen economy.
