Headline: UNCAPTIONED: New York Judge Finds Trump Liable for Fraud

Caption: New York Judge Finds Trump Liable for Fraud. On Sept. 27, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that the former president, his sons, Donald and Eric, and his business partners committed fraud, NPR reports. The partial summary judgment pertains to the lawsuit filed by NY Attorney General Letitia James. James filed suit last year following a three-year investigation. She accused Trump and his team of fraudulent business practices such as inflating the value of the former president's business and real estate holdings. Engoron found that Trump's net worth was indeed exaggerated in order to close deals and secure more financing. As a result, he has ordered their business licenses to be revoked in New York. An independent monitor will also continue to oversee the Trump Organization. Eric Trump called the ruling "corrupt and coordinated" and an attempt "to destroy my father and kick him out of New York”. Six other claims against the defendants will be argued at trial, which is set to begin on Oct. 2. James is seeking penalties of about $250 million.
