Headline: Half of Brits never read terms and conditions, new rule-breaker study reveals

Caption: Brits take their lives into their own hands when they skip the terms and conditions, but it turns out that 50% of Brits pretend to skim them, a new study has revealed. The research study of 2,000 adults, undertaken by French Gin G’Vine, shows that Brits love a bit of rule-breaking, with two-fifths of Brits say they are proud to break the rules. While Brits might love an orderly queue, they are not keen on always following the rules it would seem, with over one in three people admitting that they use ‘exit’ doors even though they know they shouldn’t as well as touching things even if it says ‘Please don’t touch’, with a quarter of Brits (26%) admitting that they can’t resist. Following closely behind skipping the T’s and C’s, was sneaking food into the cinema with 43% of people owning up to taking their own snacks to watch a movie. The news comes as Fred Sirieix, ambassador for G’Vine, popped up at London’s Summer by the River festival to quiz Brits and dish out some of that well-known French straight talk. Gin’s popularity has thrived over the last decade, which is reflected as a third of the UK (32%) named it their favourite alcoholic spirit ahead of whiskey and vodka. With gin firmly back on the nation’s palette, G’Vine gin has been designed to be unconventional by nature – distilled from grapes instead of lower-quality grains, breaking the rules of traditional gin-making. Fred Sirieix, presenter and brand ambassador for G’Vine, said: ‘Having the confidence to be ourselves and stand out from the crowd is an issue many people can face on a day-to-day basis. That’s why G’Vine is encouraging people to “gin your way”. ‘The idea is it’s ok to be who you want to be, whether that is through how you act in social situations, at work, or even what drink you order at the bar. We all have a certain je ne sais quoi, so let’s bring that out and show the world our true selves.’ Luke Siddall for G’Vine in the UK, said: “G’Vine, at its core, is an unconventional gin, and we’re proud to be completely unique in the alcoholic drinks trade. Our survey revealed half of the UK believe they don’t stand out from the crowd, which is why we want to empower people to ‘gin their way’.” TOP 10 RULES BRITS BREAK EVERY DAY Pretending to read the terms and conditions 50% Sneaking food into the cinema 43% Watching films when you were too young for the age rating 38% Talking in the library 35% Only brushing your teeth once a day 34% Using ‘Exit’ doors as entrances 32% Touching things that say ‘Please do not touch’ 26% Showering before entering a public swimming pool 25% Washing hands after going to the toilet 23% Sharing passwords for streaming sites 20%
