Netflix intends to increase its prices in "several markets globally" a "few months" after the SAG-AFTRA strike ends, according to a report by 'The Wall Street Journal'. The U.S. and Canada will reportedly be impacted first. Last year, Netflix increased the prices of all its plans as well. It's not clear what the new prices will be. Currently, customers pay $15.49 a month for the Standard ad-free tier and $19.99 for the Premium plan. Netflix also introduced an ad-supported plan for $6.99 a month. News of an impending price hike comes after the company took steps to mitigate password sharing earlier this year. It now costs an additional "$7.99 per month to share your account with someone outside your household," The Verge reports. Meanwhile, competitors Disney+ and Hulu will also have price hikes go into effect beginning Oct. 12. Disney+ will be $13.99 a month, and Hulu's ad-free tier will be $17.99 a month.
