Caption: ‘X’ Sign at Former Twitter HQ Removed Following Complaints. Amid Twitter's rebranding to be called X, CEO Elon Musk erected a giant, illuminated "X" to sit atop the company's headquarters in San Francisco, The Verge reports. According to Patrick Hannan, the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection and City Planning communications director, "over the weekend, the Department of Building Inspection and City Planning received 24 complaints about the unpermitted structure, including concerns about its structural safety and illumination". X reportedly denied inspectors access to the sign, stating that it was a "temporary lighted sign for an event". However, you still need a permit for such a thing, even if it's only intended to be "temporary," Hannan said. As a result, the building's owner will be fined for "building permits for the installation and removal of the structure". Musk previously said that the company will work on developing a newer, more permanent logo to replace Twitter's iconic bird, which has already been removed. Meanwhile, Musk recently took to X to express his love for San Francisco. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
