According to Patrick Hannan, the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection and City Planning communications director, "over the weekend, the Department of Building Inspection and City Planning received 24 complaints about the unpermitted structure, including concerns about its structural safety and illumination". X reportedly denied inspectors access to the sign, stating that it was a "temporary lighted sign for an event". As a result, the building's owner will be fined for "building permits for the installation and removal of the structure". Musk previously said that the company will work on developing a newer, more permanent logo to replace Twitter's iconic bird, which has already been removed.
