Following the release of her latest album Eternal Sunshine, the pop singer has revealed that filming her upcoming movie Wicked provided a welcome break from her music. In a new interview with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe, Ariana revealed that she had a "very interesting relationship to music" before she was cast as Glinda in the musical film. ”More than ever before in my life, I've been able to be so much more present and enjoy it and savor it this time in a way that I don't think I was able to before.” The 7 Rings singer then addressed the topic of going on tour for the first time since 2019 which supported 2018's Sweetener and 2019's Thank U, Next albums. ”I miss doing shows. I really do," she said, before adding that she's "excited to redefine my relationship to touring.” "If there's a chance to in between the Wickeds or right after the Wickeds, I will of course do my best to do it.” Ariana released Eternal Sunshine on Friday, marking her first album release since 2020's Positions. ”I've loved every minute of making this album - the videos, rehearsing, putting the roll-out together, doing the photo shoots, every single part of it.” Wicked is due for release on 27 November, with the second part to follow in November 2025.
