Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Dua Lipa was in 'massive whirlwind' when she heard about Grammy nominations

Caption: The New Rules singer discovered she had been nominated for Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media for Dance the Night from the Barbie soundtrack on 10 November the same day she released her latest single Houdini. Reflecting on that "whirlwind" day, she said on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast on Thursday "I got a text from a friend who was like, 'Did you know that you just got nominated for two Grammys for Dance the Night?' I was already on such a high because I had just released my new single, Houdini, and that was just absolutely flying and then I get this news and I was just absolutely in a massive whirlwind, I just couldn't believe what I was hearing." Dua Lipa / The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast. “I was just so happy to be nominated, especially for a song that means so much to me. I just feel like it's such a big part of me." The 28-year-old singer, who has previously won three Grammys, is competing against three other Barbie tracks for the Best Song Written for Visual Media prize. The movie soundtrack accounts for four of the five entries thanks to songs such as I'm Just Ken by Ryan Gosling, Barbie World by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice and What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish. The 2024 Grammys will take place on 4 February at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
