Headline: Aston Martin DB12 Unveiled At Star-Studded Event In Cannes

Caption: The stars came out at Cannes on Wednesday (24May2023) to help Aston Martin toast the first of its next generation of sportscars, the new DB12. The new luxury vehicle, billed as “the world’s first super tourer” was unveiled amid much grandeur on the French Riviera at the grand Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc during this month’s Cannes International Film Festival. To celebrate the new car and Aston Martin’s 110th anniversary, 110 esteemed guests from across the fields of entertainment, sport, the arts, and business gathered to witness the arrival of the firm’s newest icon, while dancing the night away to chart-topping singer and actress Rina Sawayama and international DJ Peggy Gou. Attendees included Academy Award winners Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas and Leonardo Di Caprio. Other actors in attendance included Kate Beckinsale, Tobey Maguire, James Marsden, and James Bond star Jeffrey Wright. Other stars ther included rapper, singer and actress Queen Latifah, American singer-songwriter Adam Lambert, and model Winnie Harlow. The new DB12 is the first of Aston Martin’s highly anticipated next generation of sportscars, which herald a new era of high performance and ultra-luxury. With a top speed of 202mph and best-in-class power output of 680PS/800Nm from its 4.0 V8 Twin-Turbo engine, DB12 combines exceptional performance and handling with an ultra-luxurious interior design focusing on a driver centric cockpit, integrating latest technologies with luxury craftsmanship and materials. Roberto Fedeli, Group Chief Technology Officer of Aston Martin says of his new pride and joy: “DB12 is a statement car. One that asserts Aston Martin’s position as a leader in performance, dynamics, engineering and technology. We have pushed every aspect of this car to be best-in-class. “The result is more power and performance than its rivals. Combined with exceptional handling and an exciting soundtrack, it is a car with passion and a truly sporting character. Crucially, thanks to its breadth of capability we have achieved this without compromising refinement, comfort and luxury. Together with our use of industry-leading dynamic control and infotainment systems, DB12 is the start of Aston Martin’s most exciting new era.” There is a choice of three different designs – standard Five-Spoke and optional Multi-Spoke and Y-Spoke – in a range of colours and finishes: Five-Spoke in Gloss Silver; Multi-Spoke in Satin Platinum, Satin Black and Satin Black Diamond Turned; Y-Spoke in Satin Bronze, Satin Black and Satin Black Diamon Turned. Speaking about its design, Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin, adds: "DB12 is our design definition of a Super Tourer. Historically, the GT code among most contemporary enthusiasts meant some semblance of comfort, speed, and refinement. But since the Aston Martin customer is no ordinary motorist, and we no longer simply design objects in and of themselves, we’ve fused everything together on the DB12 — the handling, dynamics, powertrain, sense of space, and styling— and we’ve done it to the max through technology to deliver this new category of performance-design driving experience.” Ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso were also present to catch first glimpse of the new performance model. The two drivers won’t have been partying too hard, however, as they aim to continue Aston Martin’s impressiv start to the 2023 F1 World Championship, with the team currently second in the Constructor’s Championship. Hailing the launch of the new car, Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin said: “The launch of DB12 marks not just the start of our next generation of sportscars, but also a key step forward in our vision to establish Aston Martin as the world’s most desirable British ultra-luxury performance brand. Given the focus on celebrating our unique combination of ultra-luxury and high-performance, there could be no better place to unveil DB12 than here in Cannes on the eve of the amfAR Gala and during the Monaco Grand Prix week.” Aston Martin is a Presenting Sponsor of the prestigious amfAR Gala Cannes, and the privileged opportunity to own the very first DB12 customer car will be auctioned at Friday evening’s gala charity auction in support of the foundation for AIDS research.
