The Writers Guild of America was first to go on strike in May, citing pay amid the era of streaming as a major grievance. SAG-AFTRA joined the writers and went on strike earlier this month. They also had concerns about wages in addition to AI's role within their industry. The last time that both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA went on strike at the same time was in 1960.
