By the Independence Day of Ukraine (24August2023), the monument will officially have a new symbol on its shield - the Ukrainian Trident. "We expect that the work on replacing the Soviet coat of arms with the Trident will be completed on time. By the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine and Independence Day of Ukraine, we will be able to please the Ukrainian people with such an important and necessary element of our confrontation in the ideological struggle with the enemy, " said Rostyslav Karandeev, acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. A Trident will appear on the shield of the 102 metre high monument. The metal structure of the Trident has already been made by specialists from high-quality material, and relevant studies have been carried out regarding the quality of the metal. Currently, scientists and the public have expressed a proposal to change the name of the monument. The academic board of the War Museum has already decided to name the monument "Mother Ukraine".
