Caption: On September 5, Zoom announced its new generative artificial intelligence tool, Zoom AI Companion. CNET reports that the company said the tool will "significantly expand" its capabilities starting this fall. According to the company, the new AI companion will be available to all users who already pay for the video-meeting service. Zoom said that the AI tool will be present across the platform, in Team Chat, Meetings, Phone, Email and Whiteboard. The company added that "additional features" are still "on the roadmap" and will launch over the coming months. One of the new tool's features is the ability to quickly catch up on a Zoom meeting by asking the companion questions through a side panel. Even after a meeting, the companion can get Zoom recordings complete with highlights and smart chapters. The companion can also auto- generate meeting summaries. Zoom announced that the tool will be able to provide "real-time feedback" and coaching on conversation and presenting skills by the spring.
