Insomnia is a disorder that means you regularly have problems sleeping for a variety of reasons though it can get better by switching up your sleeping habits. Restless leg syndrome - 49,500 monthly searches. This common condition causes sufferers to have an uncontrollable urge to move their legs, making it difficult to fall asleep. ”Treating RLS is difficult. It's important to avoid alcohol, caffeine and smoking as these are known to worsen symptoms.” The expert adds that "those who followed a regular fitness regime for six weeks reported a 39% improvement" in their symptoms. Narcolepsy - 33,000 monthly searches. This is a chronic neurological disorder that impacts the brain's ability to control sleep-wake cycles which can cause several issues. ”Treating narcolepsy involves the same attention to sleep hygiene, and reducing triggers such as alcohol, caffeine and smoking.” “Take regular exercise and avoid taking any sedatives. Medications may be given such as dexamphetamine, methylphenidate or antidepressants.
