Caption: How to protect your baby's ears. If you notice that your little one is having trouble hearing, struggling with balance more than normal or if they have liquid coming out of their ears, they might be having trouble in that department. Hilary Harkin, who leads an Ear Care Clinic at Evelina London Children's Hospital, has shared her tips for children's ear health on behalf of Earol. First and foremost, it is important that you avoid touching your baby's ears too much because their inner ears are more sensitive compared to those of adults. ”Do not fiddle with your baby's ears as they are very delicate," Hilary advises. Secondly, Hilary warns that using earbuds to clean your little ones' ears can cause damage. ”Avoid putting anything into the ear canal such as a cotton bud to clean ears. This can cause damage to the delicate ear and push earwax further inside.” If you need to clean your baby's ears, opt for a gentler option, such as a soft cloth or flannel dampened with water, and stick to the outside of their ears. The expert also notes that if you fiddle with your baby's ear too much, you end up encouraging "more wax to be produced”. Hilary continues: "Trapped ear wax can reduce your babies' hearing. If you have concerns about your babies' hearing make an appointment with your local GP or specialist nurse.” THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
