In May, hundreds of Amazon workers took part in a walkout to protest the new policy. Earlier this month, Amazon sent employees an email informing them that their attendance was being tracked. Amazon said workers were not physically checking in at the office as often as the policy requires. CNN reports that Amazon previously said its remote work policy would evolve along with the pandemic, suggesting it could eventually be brought to an end.
