BBC reports that the temporary war cabinet will include Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in addition to Gantz. "During the war period, no bills or government decisions will be promoted that do not concern the conduct of the war.", "All senior appointments will be automatically extended during the war period.", Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz, joint statement, via BBC. Over 1,200 Israeli people have died since the October 7 Hamas attack. BBC reports that an additional 150 people, including the elderly and children, have been taken hostage by the militant forces. On October 11, fighting continued as Israel's military stated that thousands of troops were ready to be deployed for a potential land invasion of Gaza. Earlier this week, Israel announced a siege on the Palestinian territory in response to the attack, cutting off all energy, water and food supplies.
