Caption: Zelensky to Visit Biden As Congress Debates More Aid. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet U.S. President Joe Biden at the White House on Sept. 21, according to an administration official. Zelensky will also visit Capitol Hill as Congress debates President Biden's request to give Ukraine another "$24 billion in military and humanitarian aid," 'The Guardian' reports. Specifically, Biden is seeking $13.1 billion for Ukraine's military, $8.5 billion for humanitarian purposes and $2.3 billion for financing to entice donors via the World Bank. Zelensky also visited Washington in December of 2022 to speak before Congress. At the time, he thanked the U.S. for its help in funding Ukraine's war effort against Russia. Zelensky promised Americans that it was "not charity" but an "investment" in world security and democracy. As Russia's invasion is far into its second year, Congress is divided about granting Ukraine additional funding, 'The Guardian' reports. Some Conservative Republican lawmakers are seeking to reduce federal spending, which includes cutting off money for Ukraine. Meanwhile, Congress must pass its yearly appropriation bills before Sept. 30 or risk a government shutdown. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
