Dia de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday dedicated to honouring departed loved ones, carries immense significance in the vibrant city of San Antonio - with its close ties across the Mexican border. Guests at the zoo next week are encouraged to bring a framed photograph of their pet to display on the temporary animal ofrenda, a beautifully adorned altar. To facilitate this, the San Antonio Zoo's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council will provide a free photo printing and do-it-yourself frame decoration station for guests of all ages, enabling them to contribute a personal touch to their cherished memories.
