Headline: Unpacking developer criticizes Nintendo for ignoring reports of "cheap fakes" on its eShop
Caption:
Eurogamer reported that Wren Brier, the creative director behind the indie hit Unpacking, has criticized Nintendo over the prevalence of copycat games on its Switch eShop. Wren Brier posted on Bluesky, highlighting a series of games on the eShop titled Unpacking. These games were clearly inspired by Witch Beam's award-winning title and used the same trademarked name. "It's been over two weeks and these are still on the eShop," said Brier. "Nintendo hasn't responded to any of our reports of these egregious scams which are using our trademarked game name and purposely tricking Nintendo customers into buying cheap fakes."
