Here’s an early look at the Olympic Village where athletes will live and enjoy themselves during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The village is poised to become the central hub for athletes and their delegations starting 18 July. Located in the Seine-Saint-Denis department, this global village is ready to host over 200 Olympic and nearly 180 Paralympic delegations. The village features 2,800 apartments designed to house four to eight athletes each, with shared bathrooms and living spaces. Central to the village is the Main Dining Hall in Cité du Cinéma, seating 3,200 people and catering to the nutritional needs of high-level athletes with diverse dietary requirements.
A separate 600-seat world-food restaurant and food trucks will offer additional dining options. An army of 1,000 employees will prepare and serve up to 40,000 meals daily. The 3,000 square metre Fitness Centre, open 24/7, boasts over 350 pieces of equipment and professional coaches.
For relaxation, the Village Club provides a Disconnection Bubble with massage chairs, a Play Zone with arcade games and a Social Zone with giant screens and a main bar. Transportation within the village will include a fleet of electric vehicles, bicycles, and a specially designed Accessible People Mover (APM) by Toyota, ensuring inclusive mobility. The village’s design achieves a 50% reduction in carbon emissions through bio-sourced materials and energy-efficient buildings.
