Caption: Celine Dion remains 'determined' to get back on stage. In 2022 the Canadian star cancelled a series of tour dates and announced she had been diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). Now, to mark International SPS Awareness day on Friday, the singer released a new photo of herself and her three sons and shared her hopes of returning to the stage. “As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible.” Celine went on to pay tribute to her sons René-Charles, Nelson and Eddy, her team and loyal fans for the “love and support” she has received since her diagnosis. ”I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it!”. Celine, 55, has made a few public appearances in recent months. She attended Katy Perry’s Las Vegas residency in November last year and presented Taylor Swift with the album of the year accolade at the Grammy Awards in February. SPS is a rare autoimmune disorder that causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms, and sometimes double vision, slurred speech and an unsteady gait.
