Julien's Auctions has announced an upcoming event that promises to captivate fans of martial arts, sports, and entertainment. The "Legends in Motion" auction is set to take place live on 28 September, at the Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong, as well as online at juliensauctions.com.
At the heart of the auction is a remarkable collection of memorabilia from the life and career of Lee, the legendary Hong Kong-American martial artist and global icon. For the first time in over 50 years, 40 items from Lee’s life and film career will be on display, offering fans a unique opportunity to own a piece of history.
The auction offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Bruce Lee enthusiasts to acquire deeply personal and culturally significant artifacts.
Born in San Francisco and raised in Hong Kong, Lee became an international superstar through classic martial arts films such as The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, and, Way of the Dragon. His magnum opus, Enter the Dragon, in which he starred and choreographed the action, became a global box office sensation, grossing over $300 million (equivalent to $2.2 billion today) despite its modest budget of $850,000.
More than just a film star, Bruce Lee was a martial arts innovator and philosopher whose influence on martial arts and popular culture endures to this day. His combat philosophy, Jeet Kune Do, revolutionized the martial arts world by blending techniques from various disciplines into a fluid and dynamic system. UFC President Dana White has even hailed Lee as "The Father of Modern MMA.

Other standout items include the coolie shirts worn by Lee in "The Big Boss," combat gloves and trunks from Enter the Dragon, and Lee’s personal Kung Fu dress jackets. Fans can also bid on rare artifacts such as Lee's chromed steel butterfly swords, an Everlast sparring head guard, and a hand-initialed MacGregor boxing glove used in sparring sessions with celebrity students like James Coburn and Steve McQueen.
