Madonna spoke out to support the transgender community by marking Trans Visibility Day. The 66-year-old music legend is an icon among the LGBTQ+ community and has been an outspoken supporter of trans rights in recent weeks since the reelection of US President Donald Trump. Since Trump returned to power in January, the transgender community in the USA has felt under attack, with some revealing they have had their gender changed on official documents like passports and others fearing essential medications could be made more difficult to obtain. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Madonna shared a string of photographs of herself posing alongside a range of celebrities including stars who identify as transgender. In an empowering caption, the Material Girl singer affirmed the identity of those in the community and revealed she had been raising funds to support those in need. ”Happy Trans Visibility Day!! And Happy 40th anniversary of my first film - Desperately Seeking Susan We celebrated this weekend by attending a fashion show called, MOTHER -DAUGHTER-HOLY SPIRIT!! All money raised will go to the Trans Justice Funding Project!”. The star added, "Thank you, to All for showing up.” Those posting alongside Madonna included iconic model Connie Fleming, a former muse of late fashion designer Thierry Mugler, and I Love Dick actor Bobbi Salvör Menuez.
