Tory Lanez in hospital after prison stabbing. The rapper has been stabbed while in custody at the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi, 100 miles (180 km) north of Los Angeles. Lanez, who is serving 10 years after shooting fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion in 2020 was hospitalised on Monday morning after he was stabbed by another inmate. Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, is reportedly in a stable condition after another inmate stabbed him in a prison yard with a self-made shank. He was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital in Bakersfield, according to the first report by TMZ. A representative from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation told The New York Post that "an investigation has been initiated”. Lanez has been in jail since August 2023. He is serving time over gun charges that stemmed from the 2020 incident in which he shot Stallion in the foot. He was convicted in December 2022 of assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm and negligent discharge of a gun. In January, the WAP singer was granted a five-year restraining order against the incarcerated rapper, after she claimed that Lanez had been harassing her from behind bars. A judge confirmed the order, noting that she had "sustained burden of proof" to grant the motion. Stallion’s request for a restraining order described Lanez as a "violent and dangerous criminal" with an "established pattern of behaviour”.
