Trump’s upcoming state visit follows the precedent set in 2019, when the late Queen Elizabeth hosted him for a three-day visit. Typically, second-term US presidents meet with the monarch at Windsor Castle for lunch or tea, but Trump’s visit will be more formal. Keir Starmer extended the offer for the second state visit during a trip to Washington in March, which Trump eagerly accepted. The exact dates for the visit are yet to be confirmed, but preparations are actively underway.
