Blizzard has reportedly generated $150 million from microtransactions in Diablo 4. According to Eurogamer, since its release in June 2023, Diablo 4 is said to have earned Blizzard approximately $150 million from in-game microtransactions.
Senior product manager Harrison Froeschke, in a now-deleted LinkedIn account, revealed that he was responsible for the monetization strategy of Diablo 4 including store cosmetics, pricing, bundle offers, personalized discounts, and roadmap planning.
His efforts have reportedly driven over $150 million in lifetime revenue from microtransactions. These figures help contextualize not only the success of Diablo 4 but also highlight Blizzard's impressive achievement: The company confirmed that Diablo 4 generated $666 million within just five days.
Back in July, Microsoft announced significant changes to Xbox Game Pass, including the removal of day-one releases as a benefit for subscribers to the service's revised basic tier and this includes Diablo 4.
