Ghost of a Tale Sequel Announced with Unreal Engine Upgrade. According to Rock Paper Shotgun, the charming indie game Ghost of a Tale is officially getting a sequel. Developer Lionel "Seith" Gallat and his team have been working on the follow-up since 2022 but only recently shared progress details. After years of development using Unity, the team made a challenging switch to Unreal Engine 5, citing struggles with Unity that slowed down gameplay creation. Seith, a former DreamWorks animator, revealed they've also built a custom in-house tool for quests and dialogue, replacing outdated text-editing software. Fans can expect the same haunting whimsy of the original game, which was likened to Dark Souls with mice, but with upgraded visuals and mechanics. While the sequel’s title remains unchanged, anticipation is already building for this fresh chapter in the beloved series.
