According to Eurogamer, Sunderfolk, the debut game from Dreamhaven—founded by ex-Blizzard head Mike Morhaime—was announced in 2020. The company features a team of former Blizzard staff and includes two studios: Moonshot and Secret Door.
Sunderfolk, developed by Secret Door, is a tactical game inspired by tabletop RPGs and is played using your phone. Players will explore the Sunderlands, facing monsters and interacting with colorful animal inhabitants. The game aims to capture the essence of traditional tabletop adventures while making them more accessible.
Players use a phone or tablet as a controller for tasks like inventory management and combat. The game supports couch co-op, bringing the feel of traditional game nights to life. Combat is turn-based, using skill cards for attacks. Fate Cards add a luck element, requiring players to customize their decks and coordinate with teammates for victory.
"We have a bunch of dedicated board and tabletop game fanatics on the team at Secret Door - getting together for game night has been a regular highlight for many of us going back years and years," Sunderfolk is set to release on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch in 2025
